“Everything will work out in the end.”

Have you ever heard this sentiment expressed before? Most often it's what we say when we encounter the darkness, brokenness, sadness, and hopelessness of this world and don’t have the wherewithal to remedy it; we say it in an effort to convey perseverance and hope in trying times.

But how can we know for certain that everything will work out in the end?
