And It's One Of The Key Ingredient For Success. It is much easier said than to implement, but not impossible. 🙂One of the greatest spiritual battles we will face is self-control, and yet it is one that every Christian must win. The Bible lists self-control as one of the fruit of the spirit in Galatians 5:22-23: “By contrast, the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control..."It’s easy to get along with people who are nice to us, but the minute they step on a nerve, we have a decision to make. We can choose to stay calm and respond in a Christlike way or we can get angry and verbally defend our point of view. Often we opt for 2nd. If we choose to react by throwing fiery verbal darts, at the moment those words leave our mouth, we officially surrender our power to the very one who attacked us, thus allowing them to control our emotions.The Bible says in Proverbs 25:28, “Like a city whose walls are broken through is a person who lacks self control.” It takes strength from God to achieve “self-control,” and we gain the victory by claiming it. You must choose to take hold of what you can control and let go of what you cannot. You cannot control your circumstances, but you can control your character. You cannot control the actions of others, but you can control the choices you make.Let us not allow our emotions to be controlled by others. Strive to reach the point where your mood doesn’t shift based on the insignificant actions of someone else. First Peter 4:7 tells us, “The end of all things is near.
