Topic : Saying Good - Byes. ๐๐
2 Timothy 4:6. For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.
Saying any most hurried good - bye may be for years or may be forever, should we not always part from our friends tenderly, kindly, lovingly? W
We should never seperate, in angry mood, with bitterness in our hearts, with unforgiveness or misunderstanding, as we may never again get an opportunity to set right.
We should never part saying good - bye carelessly or coldly, but sincerely with thoughtful love. We should try to make our briefest good - bye sweet and kindly enough for a last good-bye should it prove to be the last, as it may be.
Paul, the great apostle to the Gentiles wrote several of his epistles from a Roman prison. Second Timothy is the last he wrote that we know of. Written to Timothy, a relatively young protรฉgรฉ of his and written with his own demise rapidly approaching, we could certainly call this Paulโs farewell address to Timothy. However, though it was indeed a very personal epistle to one who apparently meant much to him, a brief statement by Paul in this farewell address can certainly be considered to our own spiritual welfare. Paul stated, โFor I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.
Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time and then vanisheth awayโ (James 4:14).
The wise man Solomon said, โBoast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forthโ (Proverbs 27:1). The time of our departure from this present life could very well be at hand.
So, it's always good to say good - bye to anyone with a sincere wish to bless them thinking that it's the last good - bye wish.....
If you are blessed with these devotions Pl forward to other groups and friends.. ๐๐.
