Welcome to this "Victorious Daily Devotion" in the most sweet and loving name of Jesus Christ! πββοΈπππTopic: Do You Prefer Happiness Or Joy? π Joy of the Lord is my strength. Neh. 8:10. We need to make a distinction between happiness and joy in which happiness is more equated with our material or personal circumstances. And joy is a deeper quality that draws its source from our relationship with God. Knowing that we are loved, forgiven, gifted, and called by God and remembering those things have nothing to do with our outward circumstances or even the ups and downs of life. Joy helps us to have a cheerful heart in all circumstances. It can never be disturbed by anyone, not even by devil and even when we are surrounded by sad things happening in our lives.Because joy is permanent and its directly related to our deeper relationship with Christ. And happiness depends upon what we get on a particular day. You buy an I phone. Obviously you are soo happy. But after one or two months happiness tapers down and dies. But Joy is not like that. It remains steady no matter what happens.Joy is superior to happiness and it doesn't change. But happiness changes like how the weather changes.Psalm 84 is about The Joy of Worship in the Temple. It oozes Joy, βHow lovely is your dwelling place, O Lord of hosts! My soul longs, indeed it faints for the courts of the Lord; my heart and my flesh sing for joy to the living God. Happy are those who live in your house, ever singing your praise. Happy are those whose strength is in you, For a day in your courts is better than a thousand elsewhere, O Lord of hosts. Happy is everyone who trusts in you.If we can learn how to have the joy of Jesus in our lives, through worship, hearing his word, prayer, and loving obedience; perhaps we will be able to face life, even eith the challenging and heart-breaking times, with an attitude that is marked by joy. Happiness is there only when good things happen in our lives. And when some sad thing happens suddenly , not only happiness disappears but we are unable to cope with grief. But when we have Christ within and close to us. With deeper relationship joy becomes our strength, our portion and our life. Help us Lord to have a longing to be in relationship with you to have deeper wells of joy within which is evident to others and can never be taken away by anyone or any circumstance we face. ....
