In May 2004, a young man walks into a Texas hospital and dies from a seemingly “straightforward” encephalitis case. A month after donating his organs, all the recipients strangely end up dead from similar nervous system dysfunction. When the lab test came back positive for rabies in all the recipients, doctors are left wondering how they overlooked a rabies-infected organ donor.
