If we are to “love our neighbors as we love ourselves” (Mark 12:31), disregarding one’s own emotional or spiritual well-being for the comfort of others is misaligned.

The teachings that come with learning to love is a foundational prerequisite of multiple teachings; defining not only the relationship with God and ourselves; but, overall relational health. That includes relationships that warrant periods of unapologetic separation or dismissal from our lives.
