Art tourism broadly covers travel for the purpose of seeing and enjoying art in whatever shape or form it takes. It can be as simple as visiting a local gallery, driving out to a beautiful sculpture park, flying domestically for an art event, or travelling internationally to seek out the famed art of certain destinations.

Anna Calver of regional tourism organisation WellingtonNZ shares her insight from New Zealand's undisputed art and cultural hub, and Ciara Pratt of LiveNation brings a unique perspective of delivering large-scale musical and theatrical events.

To wrap up the episode, Go with Tourism interviewed Mark Kneebone, Managing Director of LiveNation New Zealand about 'Van Gogh Alive', a global art experience that his team brought to our shores. With ticket sales surpassing all expectations, this unique event has proven to be a hit with Kiwis and had widened our understanding of what type of attractions New Zealanders will travel domestically for.
