In the bible, the stories of Abraham, Moses, and Joshua are examples of people who obeyed God and were striving to be the best they could be. In the case of Joshua, he walked with followers around the city of Jericho, shouting and playing trumpets. This piece is about that story, and the origin is unknown. I chose to copy the arrangement performed by Mahalia Jackson, and added transpositions. It is an encouraging piece for me, to strive hard to follow God.
