Noted Mississippi civil rights attorney Constance Slaughter-Harvey played a pivotal role representing families of two students gunned down by law enforcement on the campus of Jackson State College in 1970. One of those students attended the college, and another was a high school student walking from work to get to his home, which was near the campus.
