References to the imminent invasion by Assyria, by which the nation of Israel was carried away, but the Southern nation of Judah is saved … for a time. [2 Kings 17-19]: For I will no longer have mercy on the house of Israel, But I will utterly take them away. Yet I will have mercy on the house of Judah, … (Hosea 1:6,7)
Ephraim has encircled Me with lies, And the house of Israel with deceit; But Judah still walks with God, Even with the Holy One who is faithful. (11:12)
Reference to the resurrection: After two days He will revive us; On the third day He will raise us up, That we may live in His sight. (6:2)
