It is with great sadness that Matzav.com reports the petirah of Rabbi Asher Green zt”l.

Born in St. Louis Missouri, Rabbi Green moved to New York to study in Yeshiva Torah Vodaas at the age of twelve.

After graduating high school at the age of eighteen, he moved on to Beth Medrash Govoha in Lakewood, NJ, where he learned under the rosh yeshiva, Rav Aharon Kotler zt”l, for five zemanim.

Later, he learned at Bais Medrash Elyon and Bais Yosef (Novardok) under Rav Avrohom Jofen zt”l until he returned to St. Louis, where, with Rav Shmuel Faivelson zt”l, established a Yeshiva Gedola there.

He subsequently lived in Monsey for many years. In 2000, he returned to Lakewood and resumed learning at Bais Medrash Govoha.

He is survived by his children, Rabbi Pinchos Green, Rabbi Tzvi Green, Rabbi Doniel Green, Rabbi Kalman Green, Rabbi Dovi Green, and Rabbi Zevi Green.

The levayah is being held now at the Congregation Sons of Israel Holocaust Memorial Chapel, located at 613 Ramsey Avenue, in Lakewood, NJ, followed by kevurah in the adjacent bais hachaim.
