Patients may suffer from statin side effects. But according to Dr. James Howard, who presented the SAMSON trial at a 2020 AHA meeting, symptoms are not caused by the statin molecules but by the act of taking a tablet. Moreover, the symptoms are almost as bad as taking a placebo.
