Vitamin K2's effect on calcium deposition is well known. But did you know that K2 has other "side effects" that seem unrelated to calcification? In medicine, we called such "side effects" as pleiotropic effects or pleiotropic roles? 

First, let's describe what the pleiotropic effect is by using antihistamines, the Marfan syndrome gene, Alzheimer's, and statins as examples. Then we'll cover that vitamin K2 not only impacts calcification but also impacts IR (insulin resistance or prediabetes) and inflammation.
