To lead courageously means to be up front leading in the face of fear. On the football field "Get Up Front!" In Genesis Ch 3 Eve lead not Adam. Adam didn't take charge. Jesus said Matthew 4:19 "Follow me and I will make you fishers of men." God to Joshua in Joshua 1:9 "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

A man the leads courageously initiates the direction a group should go even in the face of fear or rejection.

A husband that leads courageously leads his wife with a loving and caring heart.
