Both women have felt the need to code-switch in certain spaces in the past. Now, they understand the importance of being unapologetically authentic in order to open doors for other women who look like them. 

Susan recounts the struggles she went through in undergrad as the only Black student in her major class and the problems she still facing as she climbs in her career and moves into new spaces.

Desirae talks about supporting another woman of color at her recent powerlifting meet.
