What really happened at the cross?
What was the price Christ paid for the lost?
He suffered and experienced extreme pain;
Through Him salvation was obtained!
Is Christ our example? Do we imitate the same?
Do we lay down our lives for others to gain?
Are we willing to be rejected and despised?
Are we willing to suffer, die, and be criticized?
Are we trying to follow the King of kings,
While yet holding on to earthly things?
Has Christianity become another fashion trend?
Are we constantly seeking for a new word
or conference to attend?
Has the pulpit become a place of entertainment?
Are there musicians and singers performing only for payment?
Honor should be given to those bringing God’s word,
But money should not be their motive to serve!
What message does the church proclaim?
One of deliverance or one of fame?
Are we a people with hidden issues and pain
that refuse to renew our minds and change?
Are we seeking God’s hand more than his face?
Are we trying to serve Him from a comfortable place?
Are we pointing the lost in the right direction?
Are we teaching Truth or our own speculation?
What is the church really excited about?
What really makes us run and shout?
Our mouth quickly answers “the King of kings”,
But our attitude says “When I’m blessed with things!”
The Lord says, “Take up your cross and follow Me!”
We must suffer like Christ to a similar degree.
We are to follow our Lord without any regret.
We are to trust in Him and not to fret.
The cross is a part of the Christian race;
It has a very bitter taste!
The cross is a very uncomfortable place.
The flesh is crucified; every trace!
The spirit of the anti-Christ,
Hates the cross of Jesus Christ!
This spirit says “You can gain without pain!”
“You can rise to great heights without
deliverance and change?"
“You can go to heaven and don’t have to die!”
This spirit constantly brags and lies!
The anti-Christ ministers to our flesh.
Our flesh is where this spirit will rest.
This spirit wars against the cross;
When flesh is dead, Satan’s place is lost.
How many have risen to great positions,
With this spirit influencing all their decisions?
This spirit needs vessels to be carried to the top.
If you die at the cross, then its power is stopped!
Satan still tries to exalt his throne;
He wants God’s kingdom as his own!
Our cross is the valley we must walk through;
Death to the things that I want to do!
The cross is a part of our destiny
and precedes the place of true intimacy.
God’s cleansing process is received by few;
Many cling to the old and reject His new.
As Queen Esther prepared for an earthly king,
So must our hearts and minds be purged clean!
Many leaders in Christ are moving ahead,
Though their flesh is not fully dead.
The gospel becomes mixed with half-truths and lies,
when flesh is not properly crucified!
They speak of things they don’t understand.
They love the spectacular and cater to man.
They reject the cross for the easy way,
and lead hundreds and thousands blindly astray!
The cross is meant to strip our flesh.
We then become anchored in God’s rest!
These are the chosen God desires to use
to spread the true gospel of His good news!
His servant,
