The Pipestone Economic Development Authority (EDA) and representatives of Minnesota West Community and Technical College and Pipestone Area Schools (PAS) discussed possible changes to the blight remediation program the three entities partner on during the EDA’s Oct. 10 meeting. Currently, the EDA acquires blighted properties and students with PAS and Minnesota West renovate them through Minnesota West’s carpentry program. Four homes have been renovated and sold through the program and students are working on a fifth property at 622 Third Ave. SW.
