In early 2022, we adopted a new kitten, who we named Rocky, from the Sioux Falls Humane Society. He had a bit of a respiratory infection when we got him, so they sent some medicine home with us and we isolated him from the other pets for a while. He recovered and became a wonderful friend, known for loud purring, being absolutely crazy at about 5 a.m., and sneaking up on our other pets to give them a quick and unexpected smack to the behind.
