This week we paid honor to service men and women who sacrificed their lives to defend freedom. I attended the Memorial Day service held by the Pipestone American Legion and was once again reminded of how much our veterans and active military personnel do so the rest of us can enjoy the lives we live. In listening to Minnesota National Guard Lieutenant Colonel Brian Douty, I was especially struck as he recalled by name men and women he knows of who lost their lives while serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. To hear these names seems to make it more real....
