Signs of life were evident Wednesday night at A’s Field in Pipestone, as the Pipestone A’s amateur baseball team (5-13) hung tough against visiting Hadley through seven frames – before giving up two late runs and succumbing to the Buttermakers 4-2 in Gopher League action. The stat Pipestone hoped to hand its hat on for heading into a pair of road tilts to close out the week was a ‘7’ in hits column.
