PIERRE—Three weeks ago, South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem announced that she would be holding a “tribal public safety crisis summit” on June 24 to provide tribal law enforcement with better training. The Oglala Sioux Tribe (OST), the first of nine South Dakota reservations to recently ban Governor Noem, wasted no time in announcing that they would not be attending this summit.
