August 4, 2025. Last month, CAIRNS hosted its first astronomy workshop at Wingsprings in the Lacreek District of Pine Ridge Reservation. A dozen guests were invited to learn about the moon, particularly the full moon. The ninety minute workshop included hands-on activities, close observations of the moon, and an illustrated presentation that examined astronomical and Lakotan viewpoints of the moon.
