OGLALA - This past Tuesday, the OST Council selected Marvin Youpee, a member of the Ft. Peck Sioux Tribe, as the new Associate Judge of the Oglala Sioux Tribal Court. There were two candidates that were interviewed last Tuesday for the vacant associate judge position. Duane Yellow Hawk was interviewed first. Currently Yellow Hawk is serving as a prosecutor for the tribal court in Kyle; he is a past council representative from Eagle Nest district with experience in the criminal justice system as a judge, a prosecutor, a trial advocate and work experience in the private sector.
