A majority of area basketball teams got their seasons underway before the Thanksgiving break, and most will resume next week in one of a number of tournaments that tip-off either Monday or Tuesday. Smithton plays Monday night (7:30 p.m. scheduled start) as the six-seed in the 83rd Girls Tipton Tournament.
