Lorin Fahrmeier, of Lafayette County, who comes from a long agricultural background, was named the Missouri State Fair Foundation executive director last week. Fahrmeier began the position on Monday, replacing outgoing director Wendy Faulconer. She and her husband, Bret, and children Murphy, 10, and Pip, 4, own a you-pick farm of strawberries and blackberries near Lexington, and they also raise beef and pork and own a winery. Fahrmeier said their children are fourth-generation fair exhibitors.
