The Pettis County Ambulance District Board of Directors met Tuesday night and presented a Life-Saving Award, discussed prayer before meetings, and the Windsor Ambulance District sales tax. EMS Chief Eric Dirck recognized PCAD Paramedic Ryan Shelton for saving the life of Norman Alcorn, who was choking on a piece of meat on April 17, Easter Day. Although the family tried to do the Heimlich Maneuver on Allcorn, they were unsuccessful. When PCAD arrived, Shelton attempted to retrieve the obstruction and was unsuccessful.
