Michael Charles Taapa, 80, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 25th, 2022, at home in Grand Portage. Mike was born December 17th, 1942, to Helge and Lila (Mattson) Taapa. He grew up in Embarrass, Minnesota and loved spending time at the family cabin that he helped his dad build, on Lake Vermilion. Mike enjoyed outdoor activities: fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, ATV-ing, flying, and boating. Mike was a proud member of Local 106 Painter Union. He spent time salmon fishing in Alaska.
