With apologies for the quality of this interview, where technology between the UK and Russia wasn't always reliable, but this is nevertheless a great interview with an outstanding sax player, Igor Butman.

We had a fascinating discussion about his music and the bridge he is constantly building between Moscow and New York. His new album - Only Now - is available now. I cannot recommend it highly enough and I hope the two tracks I've included here give some indication of the quality you'll enjoy. And if you have ever considered a trip to Moscow, this time next year will be the time to go, when Igor is set to help celebrate 100 years of Russian jazz with a concert at the renowned Bolshoi Theatre on 1 October 2022.

Thanks to Igor for allowing me to play extracts from Only Now alongside our conversation.

Don't forget the Quincy Jones quote that sums up why I do this: "Imagine what a harmonious world it would be if every single person, both young and old, shared a little of what he is good at doing."
