Safety Kam Curl almost came out of nowhere. A 7th round pick in 2020, he was starting by Week 8 his rookie year and has been the starter ever since.

Following the 2022 season, Curl was considered at Top 5 safety and talks began between him and the Commanders about a long term extension but nothing ever materialized.
