This podcast is focused on language, so as an English major, I am most qualified to discuss. Recently, I have noticed that the term virus has morphed by professionals using the word, into the word disease. Yet there is a difference between the two. This is a high-level discussion that discusses shifts in language.
This is the beginning of a series of thoughts from my academic understanding that I will explore with health professionals on the medical components of a virus versus a disease.
Because popular dictionaries have changed the word for political purposes (yes - academic credibility is not what it used to be either and you should question everything by applying common sense by thinking), I am providing links to a medical dictionary.
