In John 1:38-39, they asked Jesus where he was staying, and heinvited them to come and see. Then Jesus turned, and saw them following, and saith untothem, What seek ye? They said unto him, Rabbi, (which is to say, beinginterpreted, Master,) where dwellest thou? He saith unto them, Come and see.They came and saw where he dwelt, and abode with him that day: for it was aboutthe tenth hour.

Sometimes we get caught up in our own interests, but when wespend time with Jesus, our true interests awaken. Just staying with Him for ashort time isn't enough; we often go back to our own concerns. However, we can stayconnected to Jesus no matter our life circumstances.

In John 1:42, Simon's name was changed to Cephas. Our new nameis written where our pride and self-interest have been erased. True discipleshave their old ways replaced with selflessness.

Pride is like making ourselves our own god. We can fall intothis trap without realizing it, just like the Pharisee and the tax collector inLuke 18:9-14. Humility is important; those who humble themselves are exalted.

Saying, "I'm no saint," can be a form of human pride.It's like doubting God's ability to transfor m us. God can make us saintsthrough His grace. Jesus and the Father will make their home with us if we loveand follow Him (John 14:23).

Don't put conditions on your relationship with Jesus. Let Him beyour everything, and you'll find eternal connection with Him.
