"Jesus' second church letter in Revelation is to a little congregation in the big city of Smyrna. This group of believers was facing incredible hostility from those around them, but were hanging tough and staying true to the Gospel. Nonetheless, they were tempted to fear or lose heart. Jesus writes them encouragement to tell them that He knows, that He is with them, and that they will conquer if they stay faithful. Jesus' word to us is the same. He knows our greatest needs, and promises us the crown of life if we will continue to hear and listen to His voice."
