Carolyn has a bachelor's degree in elementary education and is a Montessori director certified by the American Montessori Society. She has served on the board of the Illinois Montessori Society, is past president of the Illinois Montessori Teachers Association, and is past president of the Association of Illinois Montessori Schools. She is secretary to the Heads of School Representative to the American Montessori Society and has been active in the development of Montessori schools in Africa and Europe.
