Helen Hesse Skipper, 68, of Jackson, passed away on Oct. 24, 2022, following an unexpected illness, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on Oct. 11, 1954 in Selma and was adopted by her parents, Robertson C. Hesse and Elizabeth Jones Hesse. She lived in Mountain Brooke, later moving to Severna Park, Md., and graduating from Severna Park High School in 1972, before attending and graduating from the University of Alabama. This is where she met her husband of 41 years, Joe, on a blind date. She was an enthusiastic volunteer and was honored as “Citizen of the Year”...
