Gloria Jean Murphy, 82, of Thomasville died Jan. 8, 2023 at Crown Health Care of Thomasville after a long battle with cancer. She was born Aug. 9, 1940 in Chadwick, Ill. to Julius and Hazel Dora Eickert. She married Alton Haywood Murphy in 1967 and moved to Grove Hill. She was a long time employee at Simplex Industries. She loved her family, children, animals and she was a jokester. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; son, Timothy Haywood Murphy; four sisters and four brothers.
