A 20-year-old on her way home to Semmes from college was killed in a two-vehicle collision on Highway 43 south of Grove Hill early Friday morning, March 31. Loren Gamble was reportedly a student at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. The accident happened near the Drive-In Theater Road on 43 south of Grove Hill. Reports are that her southbound Nissan Sentra crossed into the path of a northbound log truck that could not avoid hitting her.
