The old newspapers are brown and brittle and literally fall apart with handling. But they are a treasure of Thomasville’s history from the turn of the 20th century into the early years of the 1900s. Charlie Anderson shared the old copies of The Thomasville Echo, the newspaper that predates The Thomasville Times that started in December 1921. Few copies of The Echo exist today. Thomasville has had several newspapers since its founding in 1888. The Choctaw Enterprise was the first, predating even the naming of the town.
