Wilkinson and the Thomasville City Council received a letter last week from American Can Company concerning the burning of bark and wood residuals at their sawmill located near downtown Thomasville. The smoke from their mill and other wood operations around town have been a source of complaints from residents on the south end of town for some time. The letter revealed that the company is planning on installing an incinerator that will help eliminate smoke problems.
