Clarke County has for months been looking for an assistant county engineer with no success. Now, the county engineer’s position can be added to the help wanted list. County Engineer Shane Moore submitted his resignation letter to the County Commission Tuesday, effective in September. Commissioners thanked Moore for his service and agreed to declare the position open and start seeking applicants. Faye Norris, office manager for the Clarke County Sheriff’s Office, has also announced she is retiring. Norris has worked for the county for 26 years.
