DeAndrea Martinez, left, earned a PhD from University of Alabama at Birmingham on August 11th, 2023. She received her BS. from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and master's degree from Emory University. She is the daughter of Ramond and Debra Barren of Thomasville. She is the granddaughter of my late John Witherspoon, Lenora Witherspoon, and Golenda Blanks. She is the mother of Amelia and Abigal Martinez.
