Dorothy Sims Watson, 89, of Thomasville, passed away Saturday, Jan. 15, 2022, at her residence. She was born in the Bashi community on Monday, Sept. 5, 1932. A member of Tompkins Baptist Church in Grove Hill, she had retired as the Secretary of Forestry with Scotch Lumber Company. She was also a member of Eastern Star and enjoyed sewing and baking and decorating cakes. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmus Newton and Elizabeth Dews Newton; husbands, Kenneth Sims and Warren Watson; and grandson, Keith Capps.
