The Marengo High School Panthers varsity boys basketball team lost 60-53 Jan. 6 at Sweet Water High School. Sadrickson Myrthil had 23 points for Marengo with 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals. Brian Allen Jr. had 14 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists. Jaland Lewis-Horton had 30 points for Sweet Water, and Jalen Lucy had 11 points. In addition, the varsity boys lost 42-40 to Washington County Jan. 4 in Chatom. Allen had 16 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 7 steals.
