The next meeting of the Thomasville City Council will be Monday, Jan. 10, at City Hall. The work session begins at 5 p.m.; utility board meeting at 5:30; and council meeting at 6 p.m. Southwest Alabama RSVP has been recycling newspapers for years but can also recycle magazines and catalogs. Help the environment by keeping these items out of the landfills. Recycling papers not only frees up three cubic yards of landfill space but saves 17 trees, 380 gallons of oil, 4,000 kilowatts of energy and 7,000 gallons of water.
