22 years agoApril 13, 2000 Former Mayor Nathan Stephens will be honored Saturday at the city’s annual Youth Day, which will be at Gates Drive Park. Stephens, who passed away in 1990, help spearhead Thomasville’s recreation project. In 1982, he helped oversee the beginning of work on Gates Drive Park. He also hired the city’s first fulltime Recreational Director, Dan Boswell, on March 25, 1982.
