Alabama has a law that prohibits crossover voting in primaries. If you voted Republican in the May 24 primary you must vote Republican in the June 21 runoff if you vote. You can’t “cross over” and vote in the Democratic runoff. The same holds for Democrats. Those voters can’t swap over to the Republican runoff ballot. Alabama does not require individuals to register their political party affiliation but the crossover rule is enforced.
