The Thomasville Fire Department received a fire call to the Louisiana-Pacific mill in the North Clarke Industrial Park shortly before 4 o’clock Sunday morning, July 24. Also responding were Fulton and Grove Hill departments. The fire was quickly brought under control. Grove Hill’s trucks and manpower were released by 4:13 and Thomasville’s were leaving the scene by around 5 o’clock. The plant manufactures oriented strand board (OSB) and using wood chips to make the product. Some of the dryer chips had somehow caught fire.
