Mayor Paul South opened Tuesday’s meeting of the Jackson City Council by extending condolences to the Skipper family. Helen Skipper passed away Monday after a brief illness. The mayor said that she will be missed tremendously. He commended her involvement in many worthy causes in the city and county. Mayor pro tem Audra Raybon expressed sympathy to the Skippers as well as the family of John Postlewaite, a beloved Jackson teacher who passed away recently.
