On Jan. 22, Kathryn Turner Thompson of Chunchula killed a 175 lb. whopper of a five point in the Bladon Springs area of Choctaw County near Turkey Creek on Bear Head Hunting Club. The buck was likely a six or seven point, but this big bruiser was missing part of his right side from fighting. This was Thompson's first deer and first time ever to pull the trigger on a rifle larger than a 22, and she did it sitting on the ground free handed with a single shot 243 Rossi using only the brush around her as her cover....
