A Clarke County man sentenced for the murder of a mother and young son in an automobile crash is up for possible parole. Marquez R. Rankin’s case will be one of more than 150 before the Alabama Board of Pardons and Paroles Jan. 17-19. Rankin was sentenced in December 2006 to 22 years for the reckless vehicle murder of Helida Robinson Reid and her son, Derrick Lashaun Robinson.
