The price of a first-class postage stamp in 1987 was 22 cents. That’s the year that Susan Roberts went to work at the Jackson Post Office. By contrast, the price of a stamp today is 63 cents and in July it will increase to 66 cents. Roberts is retiring as Jackson’s postmaster this Friday, April 21 after 35 years and four months with the U.S. Postal Service.
